Requesting a Removal Order (Return or Disposal) of Product Units

What is a removal order?

Removal Order is an order issued by you to request that merchandise be either returned to you or disposed of by the Fulfilment Centre concerned.

How do I request a removal order? 

You can request a removal order by selecting the units to be returned to you or disposed of from the “Manage Inventory” page in your Amazon Seller Account and following the online steps described.

What is the Automated Unfulfillable Removals option in my Amazon Seller Account?

By enabling Automated Unfulfillable Removals in the Settings > Fulfilment by Amazon Section of your Seller Account, you are requesting to have eligible unfulfillable units in Amazon Fulfilment Centres automatically removed –either returned to you or disposed of, according to the timetable you select. This can be either on the 5th and 20th of each month, on the 1st of every month (”Monthly”), or on the 1st of the month every 3 months.

Lost, expired, carrier-damaged or warehouse-damaged Units are not eligible for removal.

What is the Automated Long-Term Storage Removal option in my Amazon Seller Account?

By enabling the Automated Long-Term Storage Removal in the Settings>Fulfilment by Amazon Section of your Seller Account, you request that any units affected by an “inventory clean-up” be removed (returned to you or disposed of).

On the 15th of each month of both February and August every year, all inventory having been stored in our Fulfilment Centres for 365 days or longer is subjected to an upfront bi-annual Long-Term Storage Fee.

Long-Term Storage fees are not charged as long as a request is made to have such inventory removed or disposed of prior to the “Inventory clean-up” deadline. You can view Long Term Storage fee as well as removal and disposal fee costs under the pricing tab of our marketing website.

Please note that all sellers are entitled to retain one single unit of each ASIN in their inventory which will be exempt from annual Long-Term Storage Fees.

How will I know when Amazon has shipped the item(s) back to me?

We process return requests as soon as they are received. We send an e-mail confirmation once items are packed for shipping.

How long will it take to get the item(s) back?

Typically, return requests take 10 to 14 business days to pick, pack and dispatch.

Can I have the item(s) returned to an address outside my home marketplace country?

How much does Amazon charge for a removal order of my items?

All costs for removal or disposal of inventory are charged to your seller account. Please refer to the FBA Fees section of our marketing website for more information on unit return and disposal fees.

How is a removal order billed?

Removal Orders are billed within 45 days of the Removal Order date.
