Invoice by Amazon – sold by Amazon Business, sourced from you

Note: This feature is only available for sellers enrolled in the VAT calculation service.

Many Amazon Business customers have stated that they require invoices from a single seller of record. To support this request, Amazon enables you to sell inventory to Amazon Business EU SARL also known as ABEU to re-sell it instantly to a business customer when they place an order on Amazon Business. By buying and instantly re-selling your items, Amazon Business EU SARL becomes the seller of record, making your inventory available to customers who would not otherwise buy from a third-party seller.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible if you are a seller in either the United Kingdom or in one of the four European stores Germany, France, Italy, or Spain and use Amazon’s VAT calculation services.

How can I enroll?

If you leveraged FBA or choose seller-fulfillment to sell your products, your selection that was fulfilled by Amazon or seller-fulfilled has already been enrolled into Invoice by Amazon. If you are opted out and would like to opt back in, click the Edit Settings inside the Invoice by Amazon settings section in VAT calculation settings and follow the directions.

Is the feature free?

Yes. There is no additional charge to enroll or fulfill orders. Standard seller fees still apply.

Will my enrolled products still be available to business customers that are not currently using Invoice by Amazon?

Yes. Your products will appear as normal third-party offers to these business customers.

What will the detail page display when my products are sold by ABEU?

Your seller name will still appear on the product detail page:

  • Products Fulfilled by Amazon will be marked as “dispatched, sold, and invoiced by Amazon. Sourced from [Seller]”.
  • Seller-fulfilled products will be marked as “sold and invoiced by Amazon, dispatched and sourced from [Seller]”.

Will all of my products be eligible?

Currently, only products listed on Amazon Business stores in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom are eligible. Amazon also reserves the right to restrict products, including restrictions based on product type. This will not affect your offer availability to customers outside of products enrolled in Invoice by Amazon.

What differences will I see for an order?

For items fulfilled by Amazon, the seller experience is generally the same as today. However, you might notice some minor differences:

  • Amazon will handle communication with the business customer, except for product-related questions if you have opted in to receive them. You will not be able to send messages directly to a customer of an Amazon Business EU SARL order.
  • Amazon Business EU SARL will appear as your customer in reports, invoices, and Seller Central.

For seller-fulfilled items, you will also notice the same differences mentioned above. Additionally, we have modified the return policy for seller-fulfilled products enrolled in Invoice by Amazon as follows:

  • We will automatically authorize all return requests from business customers that meet Amazon’s business returns policy. You are required to confirm receipt of the item within two business days after receiving the item to authorize Amazon to provide a full refund to the business customer. Refunded items that are damaged may qualify for a SAFE-T also known as Seller Assurance for E-commerce Transactions claim if they meet the SAFE-T program requirements. For other such cases, provide a written notice of the damage to Selling Partner Support.

Can I opt out specific products from Invoice by Amazon?

Yes. When you enroll into this service, all of your eligible offers are opted in by default. If you do not want to re-sell specific SKUs through Amazon Business EU SARL, you can opt out such SKUs by using one of the following methods:

  • Seller Central: Click Add Products via Upload option under the Inventory menu on Seller Central to access the Upload Your Inventory file tab. Drag and drop this excel template or click Browse files to upload the same template with the following parameters:
    • SKU, representing the relevant product
    • Is IBA, representing TRUE for SKUs that you want to re-sell through ABEU and FALSE for those that you do not

    Click Upload file to begin processing. Do not modify the first two lines of the excel template file.

  • Amazon Marketplace Web Service (MWS): Use the _POST_FLAT_FILE_IBA_OFFER_OPT_IN_DATA_ Feed Type via the Feeds API for the stores in which you want to opt out. Use the SubmitFeed operation to submit a csv file with the following parameters:

    • SKU, representing the relevant product
    • Is IBA, representing TRUE for SKUs that you want to re-sell through ABEU and FALSE for those that you do not

Can I opt out entirely or at a fulfillment channel level?

Yes. Click Edit Settings in the Invoice by Amazon settings section on VAT calculation settings. Un-check the relevant boxes to un-enroll your products fulfilled by Amazon, fulfilled by seller, or both.

Will signing up for Invoice by Amazon make my offer available in other Amazon stores where it is not listed currently?

No, Invoice by Amazon will not list your offers in the stores where it is not currently listed.
