UPS Rates Increase

Has anyone else noticed a hike in postage for UPS through Buy Shipping the past couple weeks? Noticed about two weeks ago an increase in UPS Ground postage, and then today there appears to be another cost increase on top of that. I do not recall seeing anything from UPS or Amazon on a proposed rate hike, but I was curious if I may have missed that? TIA.

The multiple rate increases were announced months ago and there have been several posts about it.

This was a TWO step increase done on different dates.

The past month or so, UPS is beating my fedex rates by a few cents. A 2nd day air package normally $24 from UPS and fedex one rate was $17.25. Now UPS is down to $15 and some change.

Shipping carriers are like car insurance. Every year or two you need to shop around, or they will milk you for everything they can.

If you're using Amazon's UPS account instead of your own, run a report of packages shipped with average size and weight, then contact UPS to get your own account to link to Amazon Buy Shipping services. You do NOT need to use Amazon's account. If you are already using your own UPS account, contact your rep and tell them you need better rates. Contact FedEx to get rates from them too. Go with whichever is better overall.

Also, don't forget to change your shipping templates to reflect new delivery promises if you go to FedEx.

Not if you have significant volume. Read what I said. Download a report of volume and use that to negotiate what they call a "ramp up period." They discount based on the expected volume to earn the business, and if you don't meet that volume in the negotiated term then you lose the discount. My UPS rates are SIGNIFICANTLY lower than using the account Amazon shares with sellers. That is not the rates that Amazon themselves are paying. Not even close. If the rates UPS gives you are higher, just unlink the account and keep using the Amazon one. You literally have nothing to lose but a few hours time, and everything to gain.

You know, unless you're my competitor in which case keep doing what you're doing.

Do not do this. Your own ups account rates are much higher than amazons.
