No longer elligible for premium delivery.

100% of my orders before 4.45pm are dispatched the same day, 1st and second class.1st class is always sent recorded (even if it's only a few pounds). All postage is Royal Mail purchased through Amazon. My valid tracking rate is 100%. Today I received an email

'You are currently not eligible to offer premium delivery options for your seller fulfilled orders. Your status has changed because we noticed that one or more of your performance metrics has fallen below the programme requirements.'

Absolute madness. what more can you possibly do than post out all orders the same day, using Amazon labels, sending all 1st class recorded, have a valid tracking rate of 100%. It's been fine for years and now it's not good enough. Unbelievable!

What is your on time delivery rate showing? This has to be 97% or over to maintain premium delivery.

What is 1st class recorded? There isn't a service called that from Royal Mail (there used to be, a long time ago)

This is likely to be your issue.

As per this page you must follow the below rule...

Royal Mail 24/48 and 1st/2nd class services are not fully tracked services and only provide delivery confirmation. For Premium Shipping Options, Selling Partners will be required to used Royal Mail Tracked 24/48 or Special Guaranteed Delivery in order to avoid losing eligibility for low tracking rate.

Or, as above, could be the On Time Delivery Rate. It'll tell you here what hte issue is

It's now called 1st class signed (£3.80 for a large letter), purchased from Amazon and 100%, recorded at the post office the same day, if before 4.45pm, when my actual cut off time is 2pm. My fastest advertised postage is 2 day delivery. It's really not possible to do more than post 100% of items the same day and 100% of 1st class sent recorded. It's worked for the last 9 years, now it seems it isn't good enough. Ironically just as Royal Mail had actually started to get the signatures sorted out.

1st Class signed for is I assume not Special Guaranteed Delivery - which is the service you would need to use for Premium Delivery.

The alternative would be to get a Royal Mail account that gives you access to Tracked 24/48.

Personally - we use DPD for our Two Day Premium delivery. This essentially under promises and over delivers - though we don't lose out on Premium Delivery as a result.

No, I don't do special guaranteed delivery, only 2 day delivery, which has always been sent 1st class signed, purchased through Amazon and since Christmas it has been arriving almost always next day. I haven't had anything arriving late, sent 1st class recorded since Christmas. My on time delivery rate is 100% and hasn't fallen below 97% since the last Royal Mail strike.

Right - but as per Amazons Premium Shipping policy - they don't accept 1st Class Signed For for Premium Shipping orders. There's I assume nothing to stop you using it, but it looks like they've spotted you aren't using a valid service for Premium Shipping, hence why you no longer have eligibility.

On 2 day delivery, the postage that automatically comes up when buying the postage from Amazon on my account is 1st class, I then scroll down and opt for 1st class signed for and pay the extra £1.70. That has always worked and my on time delivery rate, hasn't dropped below 100% for a long time. I stopped doing the guaranteed next day delivery a few years ago, when Amazon said, my price (which just covered the post and the Amazon commission) was too high.

As I said, its likely Buy Shipping isn't programmed well enough to disregard shipping options that aren't actually applicable for Premium Delivery.

You can take it up with amazon, but the Premium Shipping policy is clear - 1st Class, even Signed For is not a fully tracked service and as such isn't suitable for Premium Shipping orders.

You can buy it direct from royalmail without an account,

then just enter the tracking number on amazon

It will be a late delivery, we have lost premium shipping because a tracked 24 was delivered a day late by Royal Mail so we dropped below the 97%, didn't matter we sent same day, was delay by royal mail but we have to ride it out as ss won't override it

the whole system of premium delivery eligibility needs to be reviewed by Amazon as it is not fit for purpose.

We keep losing the status through no fault of our own and then become eligible again after a few weeks, it's really unfair as we lose premium sales for customers who want their delivery next day.
