Mastering Product Titles: 10 Key Optimization Tips for Sellers ⚡
Hello Sellers,
Crafting well-optimized product titles is key to improving visibility and sales on Amazon. Follow these 10 essential tips:
- Be concise and descriptive: Highlight key features; Follow this formula: Brand + Model/Product Name + Key Feature(s) + Size/Dimensions + Color
- Use relevant keywords: Research popular high-volume terms using external tools or extensions. Include your primary keyword(s) towards the beginning of the title. Incorporate these strategically in natural phrasing, avoiding keyword stuffing.
- Capitalize the first letter of each word: This improves readability and makes it easier for customers to scan.
- Use abbreviations strategically: For product specifications like dimensions or materials, use common abbreviations to save characters. Using "4K UHD" instead of "4K Ultra High Definition" and "LED TV" instead of "LED Television"
- Avoid promotional language and subjective claims: Stick to factual information about your product.
- Follow Amazon's title requirements: Adhere to rules about punctuation, capitalization, and character limits. Don't use ALL CAPS.
- Use spelling and grammar correctly: Proofread your titles carefully to avoid spelling mistakes or grammatical errors, which can make your listing appear unprofessional.
- Review title length: Different title lengths are listed in category-specific style guides. Inventory file templates>Category-Specific Templates >Column:Style Guide
- Update titles for variations: Ensure accuracy by updating titles for different sizes, colors, etc.
- Use numerals instead of spelling out numbers: Numerals are easier to quickly scan
By optimizing titles with these best practices, your listings will stand out and effectively communicate product value to customers on Amazon.

Re. no. 7 - spelling mistakes. Trying to change an incorrect spelling is nigh on impossible - in the past it was easier, but lately they are just never actioned, and it is a very common problem especially in the book category where a word in the title is spelled incorrectly. I now do not bother as they are never corrected, even if supplying photos of the actual book cover - unless you know of a way ?
