How To Stop Amazon Auto-Refund ?
We received an FBM order and shipped the order on the same day, December 28, 2023.
On January 2, 2024 the buyer commented, in this quote
"We received dried dandelion flowers not the varistors that we had ordered. The order is addressed to the wrong person but the correct address. it did not come from the listed seller (Zack Engineering)"
The buyer requested a refund from/through AMZ. We thought this was strange since it got there so quick.
So, We quickly tracked the package and notice that it had NOT even been delivered yet. We message the buyer multiple times with no response or reply asking for details, photos, packing slip, and invoice etc.....
On January 3, 2024 AMZ Auto-Refunded this buyer. Again, we thought AMZ would correct and reconcile this problem. AMZ did NOT.
We kept tracking the package everyday until it was really delivered on January 9, 2024.
We asked the buyer to please pay us for the products. No responses ever !!!
We have filed a SAFE-T claim and are still waiting for AMZ decision/payment.
We just started using AMZ in 2020
We are NOT new. We have shipped over 12200+ products all over the world since 1996.
My questions are
1. HOW do we stop or turn-off AMZ "Auto-Refund" ?????
2. IS this another NEW Buyer SCAM????
3. Are we (meaning all sellers) funding Jeff Bezos and his outer space trips ????

How was this message received? Was it through buyer messaging or an A-Z claim?

No, but if you believe that someone is abusing Amazon's return policy, you can report them for it here.

The only way to stop it is to sell elsewhere and leave Amazon. We would love to turn it off as well but it's impossible.
That return label program with free returns for everyone for every the fake reason they come up with is driving nuts. And Amazon doesn't care about stopping this madness because they.. created it.

Hello @Seller_d7gdfLOD8db11
Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.
@Seller_f4a7xAPCCSMqD is right, Amazon issues a Refund at First Scan for items returned through Amazon’s Prepaid Returns Label program. US sellers are automatically enrolled in the prepaid returns label program per Amazon's Return policy. With Refund at First Scan, a buyer receives a refund when the returned item is dropped off at a designated carrier location using a prepaid return label that was issued by us. Returns that are self-ship or use a label paid for by the seller are not eligible for a refund at first scan.
In this case, you have already taken the next step and filed a SAFE-T Claim. We have to allow for the claim to be reviewed and you will be notified of the outcome once the review is complete. If you do not agree with the SAFE-T’s decision, and you have additional information and evidence to support your argument, you can appeal the SAFE-T claim within 7 days of claim decision via the Manage SAFE-T claims page, through the reply option available against all resolved claims. This help page provides additional detail on SAFE-T Claims for your reference.

As Quincy the mod stated but forgot to add about the Safe-t claim process they rarely refund you the right amount and a customer can return to you literal trash and you may be lucky to get a 20% restocking fee which is not amazon policy so dont hold your breath that Safe-t claim will be fair. It rarely is

It's a terrible, commonly abused policy that you can not turn off and would never have been introduced if we were actual "partners" here.
