Chargeback question

Looking for some clarity on chargebacks. We recently had a chargeback that had the following outcome: "You are responsible for this chargeback, and you funded the buyer reimbursement."

This order was shipped using Amazon buy shipping, was shipped and scanned delivered before promised delivery date. We responded to the email inquiry requesting the required information for the chargeback. We did not receive a return request for this order.

Why would we be required to pay this chargeback if we provided tracking confirming delivery of this order? Why is there no appeal option or any seller protection for fraudulent claims like this? Any insight or other experiences appreciated. Thanks

This is frustrating and there are a bunch of posts on the forums with similar situations. Amazon needs to own up to this.

Got my first chargeback today and am extremely disappointed. How can Amazon stick us with a loss when they approved the charge. They allowed someone to use a stolen card and then make the dealer eat the loss. Why are we paying them? Ebay covers this issue because they know it's not our fault. How can we trust to sell on Amazon when they can simply accept every charge and when they go bad make the dealer eat the loss. That's a win/win for them and a lot of risk for us.
