Issues Uploading and Managing Images - Let's Discuss
Hello Sellers,
I see within these and other ecommerce forums out there, Amazon sellers are having all kinds of issues managing their listing images. We started having problems around October/November 2023. We are a registered brand owner and a team of experienced sellers who have been able to manage our listings successfully for years. We follow all guidelines and best practices very closely.
We are noticing more errors and anomalies than usual with Amazon, not allowing us to manage our listings effectively. It's very inconsistent; only seems to affect certain ASINs (in many cases, the other child ASINs update without issue). We have had issues using a flat file to update and maintain our images, issues using the Image Manager in Seller Central, issues manually editing specific listings and having our recommendations ignored by Amazon. We have also noticed more issues than usual regarding A+ content and getting store design images approved- even when they follow all guidelines outlined by Amazon.
In many cases, the images we are having trouble with are actually live and published on other ASINs already (ie shared images like technical drawings, etc). Unsurprisingly, we go through rounds of "canned responses" from Seller Support, who don't seem to acknowledge the issue and just send links to image guidelines. In one case for ASINs that have out of date branded images, Seller Support states "Amazon has verified that the current images showing on the detail page are an accurate representation of the product and most closely align with the style guides and standards." - even though most of these images are already published on other ASINs.
Some of the usual fixes don't seem to apply. In the past, things like 'a missing attribute' would have prevented an ASIN from updating. I am not sure what makes some of our "problem-child- ASINs" so unique that they do not allow them to be updated accordingly.
If anyone else is experiencing similar frustrations, we would love to discuss. My guess is that Amazon has (continued) to update their backend internal systems that govern content and it is creating unnecessary issues for sellers. I have heard some other frustrated sellers tales of Amazon changing listings titles and bullet points, pulling in out of date imagery- without notification. So strange, hopefully they hear us and will work to resolve these nuisances ASAP. Or, at the very least, allow registered brand owners to easily appeal such issues instead of spending weeks going back and forth in seller support cases.
Thanks.

If Amazon support is on here and you're curious, here's an example case: ID 14779882551.
We have just been told by Seller Support that "Amazon uses algorithms to select and display images for the ASINs based on various factors and there is no manual intervention is possible."
They continued with "Our display logic may select images based on buyers search and to provide them a best buying experience."
This is troubling, especially as a registered brand owner, that any new image updates we create and submit can be rejected by an automated system that cannot be overridden.

Hey @Seller_bUzA6zASPVZlE, thank you for providing your case ID. I see that as of a few hours ago, Seller Support came back to let you know that they have made the requested changes and to wait 48 hours for it to update.
