How do you close down an Amazon business on all their sites

At some point I will decide to shut down my company and close manufacturing. I have been told by support that there is no way to remove my product pages from their catalog once I close down meaning that anyone can claim to be selling my products long after I am gone.

Can this be right? How do you shut down an Amazon business and make sure their customers do not purchase counterfeit products?

Part of the agreement that you signed when you started here says that Amazon owns your pages, not you. Even if you wrote the page, and you manufacture the product, Amazon owns the page.

Yes, it is stupid and selfish, and customers will eventually get screwed by counterfeiters after you leave. But Amazon is blinded by the illusion of control.

You can poison the well as you ride out of town. Rewrite the page. Include references to drugs or guns or seeds so that Amazon will not let anyone sell the product. ( Do this only if you are absolutely sure that you will never want to sell on Amazon for the rest of your life )

Hello @Seller_IOtVWGAmVeuRA,

If you decide you no longer want to sell on Amazon, the detail pages will remain as stated by Seller Support, however, you can fully remove your contributions to the page by using the instructions in the Delete SKUs Using Inventory Loader help page. Delete both your offers and item data contributions.

Enter an "x" in the add-delete field in your Inventory Loader file. This will completely remove all data associated with your SKU.

I would advise that you do not change the information on the listings, as this is a policy violation and will affect your account if you ever decide to sell in the future and it will be changed back if the change has been reported.

Since you have Brand Registry, you can always keep your Brand Registry account open, even after closing your Seller Account and you can report any sellers on your pages that are not selling your products through Brand Registry.

Regards,

- Manny
