Order Replacement Message Template - How does it work if Buyer wants a replacement?

I have a particular question about a buyer that contacted me via Amazon requesting a replacement for an order, and after pointing the buyer to the Amazon Returns flow because is an FBA order. The customer replied me asking me to help because the return process is requesting him to return the product (as it normally should be), but customer is using 3 out of the 4 items that comes in the package. So I want to just provide him with a replacement without need of sending back the older item.
Does the Order Replacement Message Template work for this or what should I do to accomplish this the correct way.

There might not be an exact template for this scenario.
Have you explored the option of potentially providing the Customer with a partial reimbursement ? Keeping clear communication with the customer is key.
