UPC or ASIN barcode as Manufacturer barcode on items?

Hi everyone. I am getting my first shipment for FBA ready and have some confusion regarding the barcode that needs to go on the product. My barcode preference for FBA is set to manufacturer barcode. And when I select "Print Item Labels" from the manage inventory page, I get the ASIN barcode that starts with B0. I know that ASIN and UPC are associated. I created the listing so I have the UPC and everywhere I read it is mentioned that I can apply UPC barcodes in this case on the products. But then why would the "print labels" options print the ASIN barcode. Could someone please clarify if I should be applying the ASIN barcode or the UPC barcode on the product?

If you bought a UPC and have that everywhere on your listing, as well as selecting manufacturer barcode for your FBA replenishments, you do not need to apply the ASIN barcode. However, you have the ability to print out the ASIN barcode whenever you want to(the one that starts with B0)...as you already know. But based on your settings, the Amazon warehouse workers will just scan the UPC that is on your product (which matches the UPC on your listing).

The "print labels" option will print Amazon's barcode, called FNSKU and not called ASIN. You can not print UPC barcodes from seller central.

YOU chose if you want to put the FNSKU or the UPC (= manufacturer barcode) on your products. You have to chose that somewhere in the settings. In fact, the shipping plan will require the labels the way YOU have chosen in your settings, either UPC or FNSKU.
