Money held in reserve
Anyone know why with each sale money is being held in reserve on food items that can not be returned ? I am relatively new and the amount appears to be just enough to zero out my balance.

Just because it can't be returned does not mean that it can't be refunded.
Amazon will do whatever it needs to do to protect itself.
They not only worry about returns/refunds but they also will need to see a history of sellers actually shipping items AND having been actually delivered.
Reserves are a way of life on Amazon and if you have spent any time at all on the Forum you will have seen dozens of posts about it.
They may be reduced over time but they can remain for years in some cases. Even if they do go away they can be reinstated if there are changes to the metrics or even a velocity review if business actually improves dramatically.
Get used to it. They will release the money eventually in most cases.

Hello there, my name is CR. You have received some great guidance above by fellow community member, @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp.
I wanted to hop in here to provide this link that discusses Account Level Reserves and reasons why funds are reserved. As mentioned above, there are a number of reasons this takes place.
If you are having further issues like not receiving any payments at all for a long period of time, or have cases opened that have been transferred without further correspondence, I may be able to look into this further for you.
I'll hang tight for your reply.
