Amazon Pre-Paid return label - customer is asking for QR code as they do not have a printer.

Hi! I have had a return request for an accidental MFN order (Amazon is listing my item as free returns) and I have accepted the return request. The buyer has told me that they cannot print the label Amazon has provided because they do not have a printer, and they want a QR code. How do I proceed with this? Thanks!

Amazon always supply QR codes if RM is chosen by the customer. Either you customer chose the wrong return method (ask them to redo the return request and chose RM) or they’re trying to get you to send them a free QR code.

it’s never actually been clarified if the customer in all instances can choose Royal Mails I always thought from the initial roll out of APRL that Evri and Royal Mail were selected by Amazon seemingly at random. Which was kind of confirmed by customers in Northern Ireland being annoyed that they had been provided an Evri label which was a 3 hour round trip to drop off.

You could provide your own still though, if you have access to an appropriate service. Or the customer could send via a post office at a service level agreed with yourself and you could refund the cost of the postage as an extra charge on the refund.

I don't believe for 1 second that the buyer is unable to print a label, if they don't have a printer themselves then someone within their group of friends, relations or neighbours will have access to one they could have use of.

Although very rare, we've had the 'QR' request on 2/3 occasions when buyers essentially want free goods by coming up with excuses which keep changing as ultimately they do not want to send the goods back.

If it's a regular Royal Mail label (non-QR code) the buyer can arrange a free collection by Royal Mail, and Royal Mail will print the label at the door. They can book it in on the Royal Mail website, all they need is the tracking number and parcel weight/size.
