Changing a secondery account to a primary account

Hi,

The account we're using for Seller Central is a secondary account, even though we have no idea which account could be the primary one. This means we can't run ads, use coupons etc.

Is there a way to change a secondary account to a primary one?

I have to admit that the Seller Central support has not been helpful at all in this case.

Thanks

Sorry but what do you mean by Primary and Secondary accounts?

You are only allowed one account on Amazon, so could you elaborate please?

Is there a way to upgrade that user to a primary one?

For obvious reasons secondary users cannot make themselves primary users.

Imagine you employ a temp and you make them a secondary user. If they had the ability to make themselves a primary user they could hijack your account (for instance by making you a secondary user or deleting you altogether) - now do you see my point?

If there is only one user then they MUST be the primary user. It is not possible to create a seller account and the only person with access to it being a secondary user.

" My colleague created the account with the mentioned user" - sounds like two people to me.

And what is your role? If you have access to the forum them you have access to the seller account you are referring to - so that's 3 people them.

If you loook in Seller Help, here: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/help/hub/reference/popup/901 it clearly says

"When you set up your Seller Central account, only you can access the account tools and features. Primary Account Users: A primary user, also known as the account administrator, is the one who registers a new Seller Central account."

So your colleague who set up the account is the Primary user.

You will have to keep on at Seller support until you get someone who understands the issue
