Amazon refunds for late delivery without customer return request

Hi everyone! We've received information from Amazon about refund made on one of our seller-fulfilled orders. The order has been delivered with the delay, but we received no return requests or any claims from the customer. So the customer received parcel worth 150 EUR and also full refund from Amazon. Opening SAFE-T claim doesn't help, we're just told that the parcel delivered late. When we ask why refund took place and say that customer received the products and hasn't requested a return, our claim is just being closed with no replies. Can anybody explain why full order value has been refunded in this case without customer return requests and why Amazon makes full refund at our cost?

Just watching David Attenborough on BBC1, he said the number of sharks is declining rapidly throughout the world, he has obviously never tried selling on Amazon!

this happens to us all the time on seller fulfilled orders, we just start a safe-t claim, under OTHER and provide a message something along the lines of....

"order was refunded as not delivered, shipping label was purchased via buy shipping with DPD tracking number, 12345678910Y. Tracking confirms item was delivered on Thu, 5 Oct 2023, 12:28 BST"

safe-t claim gets approved pretty much 100% of the time
