AWD Freight: What's the Difference Between Amazon Managed versus Seller Managed?

I have been using AWD for about a year now and recently the only AWD warehouses that Amazon lets me ship into is across the country and the freight cost proposed by Amazon is through the roof; negating any savings of using AWD. My question is, I was able to find an Amazon approved carrier that will ship it for 1/3 of the price and I see there is an option for Seller Managed but what does this mean? I clicked on "How does it work?" and it didn't provide much answers, only some details on Amazon Managed.

If I choose Seller Managed, does that mean I have to manually move the inventory from AWD to FBA warehouses? Or, will Amazon AWD still do this for me? In addition, will I be paying a higher fee to move said products from AWD to FBA? Do I lose the 25% AWD storage and 15% AWD transportation savings if I choose to use Seller Managed? The details provided by Amazon on Seller Central are very vague.

Hi @Seller_lDD0jLSfQL7QI,

To confirm, "Seller managed" refers to using your own preferred carrier to deliver the shipment to AWD. The carrier choices are only for inbounding to AWD, replenishments from AWD are not affected by carrier choice or the fees associated with replenishment.

You will also get integrated rates when using Amazon partnered carriers.

For more info, please see the Amazon Warehousing and Distribution fees help page.
